No progress

That's right, I haven't made any progress in whatever I'm doing since my last update, and that's really sometime back. Still working in GNS, and the really good news is that I'll get to work there for another 5 months cause I'm only enlisting in October. 24th October to be exact. No more appeals, no more alternative plans, no more bullshit. GNS FOR LIFE....before ns.

So, after it's all said and done I'm gon study in NTU Accountancy. I know it's gonna be a big challenge, probably bigger than any I've met so far. Sink or swim I wouldn't know, but no more big-fish-small-pond talk. Gotta keep my head up and fight to get where I wanna be man, just gotta plug away.

The big news is that there're gonna be 7, or was it 8, new interns coming in next Monday. I really can't imagine where and how they are gonna squeeze into our miserable tiny #06-304 office. Meifei's been frantically trying to clear the files to free up some space and I can't imagine another person squeezing between Wee Kiat and I. Wee Kiat's really muscularly big and I'm not the smallest-sized person around so it's gonna be yet another new type of struggle in GNS I guess.

Work has been really aight, and it's getting aight-er by the day, or maybe I'm getting tighter at it by the day too although I was really really busy at the end of last month. Companies with September year-end gotta file their accounts at end of April and it so happened that I've got so many audit and collation cases with Sept Y/E. As usual my overwhelming negligence left so many loose ends lying around so I'm like running around the office trying to settle all the cases. Fortunately, it's over now and I'm breathing more easily, just a couple of cases on my hand which shouldn't be much of a problem. June/July will be another nightmare though cause it's when the December Y/E accounts start coming in and I'll be working like a beast again.

I guess I'm pretty accustomed to working now. It ain't such a bad job afterall. I get to apply what I've learnt in school, it's not entirely mindless paperwork as many were led to think, it's pretty challenging at times and I'm learning alot at the same time. The pay's not all that bad too... although I would hate to admit it, I'm enjoying myself pretty much now as compared to my schooling days when I had to constantly worry about my finances. How my minimal disposable income restricts me in my expenditures and how I would evil-ly force Pearly to go dutch hahaha. I'm kinda glad for the choices I made and how, satisfactory-esque they have turned out to be.

Update again when I'm not so caught up in my little life, or maybe when Man Utd did the double and lift the Premiership and Champs League trophies. Hope I'm not tempting fate or anything here. Please, roflmaozedong (this cracks me up real bad).

Delayed update

This is really a delayed update. I really wanted to update sometime ago but kept putting it off until now, quite alot of blog-worthy things happened in between but was spending too much time on PSP to do anything else.

Chose this unholy hour because I just came back from watching Man Utd being totally dominated by West Ham and lot 2-1... lol. fuckshit. Really totally dominated. I don't think it's a case of Man Utd playing very badly but rather is West Ham played well above themselves. Credit to the Hammers. Hope the Toffees can do Man Utd a favour by beating the shit out of Arsenal also. As of this moment they are leading 1-0... hope it lasts.

Anyway when I was watching there's this aged couple sitting at the table behind me drinking beer. Not really aged but I think in their 50s rich and english-speaking type. Then suddenly I felt something cold hit my arm and I turned back and I heard the Uncle asking very fiercely why the Auntie threw ice at him. I zitao hum tio turn back and carry on watching the match, but was eavesdropping on what they are saying.

Apparently the Uncle fell asleep and the Auntie wanted to wake him up by throwing ice at him. The Uncle thought that was insulting to his manhood because no woman has ever done that to him, to which the Auntie reply "That's because you've never been with any other woman." Ohhhhhh baby... that was the last straw for him to stand up and walk away. Then the Auntie called him and was crying like shit saying she's offended by him sleeping in front of her, implying that she's boring blahblahblah. Keep on talk talk talk I can't even hear the commentary on the match. It's really crazy how sensitive women are. I mean, the Uncle is watching soccer and he fell asleep, so obviously he's thinking that the match is boring. Why the Auntie wanna think it's her that's boring I don't know. And it's late, like 12+ and they're drinking beer. I'm there drinking teh-O and as much as I enjoy watching soccer even I am feeling sleepy and wanted to doze off a few times. And saying a typical rich and dirty old man never been with another woman? That's really not the wisest thing in my opinion because I'm sure he's got loose change lying around to get a hooker. I don't know if they're married, if they are then marriage really isn't such a mature thing now is it. Lol.

Then there's the incident in gym when my ass got whacked by a gay (I think). I mean I was packing my stuff when he walked in and I looked up and got back to my stuff. 1 second later his hand hit my ass and he's saying sorry sorry, I'm like WTF. The space is so big and it's not like he didn't look where I was, so how he managed to whack my ass accidentally still I don't know. Then he proceeded to make small talk with me ask me about my tattoo, ask whether I got tattoo anywhere else. I zitao hum tio again smile smile pack liao bag den zao. At first I saw him at the free weights section I still thought he looked quite manly, like a HK tv star I don't know the name. He's not the sissy type but the scruffy with a little man-beard type. Didn't know he had a thing for my ass though.

Had 2 on-form days at gym on Tues and Thurs. Was quite happy at least I didn't feel like dying halfway. But today was off-form at squats again, but suprisingly good day for bench press. I almost never had a good day for bench. I think the squats and chin-ups are what's killing me most. Tomorrow must squat again...hope Everton beat Arsenal and give me the motivation to squat. Gonna tweak my routine next week onwards, a new routine for a new year. I'm going to try this undulating periodization, whereby 1 day do 9 reps 1 day do 6 reps 1 day do 3 reps for everything, leaving 1 day for HIIT. This means there's an increased chance of me dying in the gym because obviously do 3 reps must do alot heavier and the risk of dying also increase by alot, especially at bench press shoulder press and squat. Still, no pain no gain. Hope I'm alive to reap the gains at the end of the next 3 months though.

Changed my phone to U700. A mini-upgrade.. Here're the photos taken today:

Swee, Everton ended the 1st half leading 1-0. Please tong tong tong for another 45min.

Manchester United 06/07 EPL Champions

So Man Utd won the EPL last night when Chelsea could only draw 1-1 with Arsenal. I didn't really watch the first half because I was on the phone with dear but I saw the sending off and thought that Arsenal will surely own Chelsea in the second half. How wrong I was. Chelsea's 2nd half performance was quite simply stunning and even with 1 man down they dominated Arsenal and had quite a few chances to win the game.

I said in my previous post that I hope Chelsea will win just so Man Utd can clinch the EPL on Wednesday against them but halfway through that second half, I'm like so nervously rooting for Arsenal to win or at least hold on to the draw. With the way Chelsea are playing, I wouldn't bet against them winning Man Utd and even snatching the EPL on the last day. Granted, the Arsenal side they are playing is an inexperienced side full of young players, but even so if it was Man Utd in their position - 1 man and 1 goal down, I cannot see how Man Utd can dominate the way Chelsea did.

I was actually quite annoyed at the end because I cannot safely say that Man Utd is the best team in the EPL now after that performance by Chelsea, the only way is for Man Utd to defeat Chelsea on Wednesday to put all the doubts to rest. Still, I feel that Man Utd need to win one more title next season to be rightly crowned the kings of England. I'll be putting my celebrations on hold until Thursday then.

Anyway people please bear with all these football-related posts because there's only 3 more matches left in the season for Man Utd! Cannot imagine what I'll be doing on weekend nights from May to August with no EPL...so I'm gonna squeeze whatever I can from the remaining time.

There's this song called Into the Ocean by Blue October, nice! Their Hate Me is great too. Gonna give a plug to this guy on multiply where I downloaded the song from, yall can listen to the song there: http://dwitrazaky.multiply.com/music/item/134

I'm watching Spiderman3 tomorrrow with dear. I know I'm slow, but wth finally! But the AFA tutorial tomorrow is damn hard so I think gonna drag until 4pm. I don't know what's up with the weather recently too. It's really crazily mad hot today even after 6pm evening time and I really can't cope. I think the govt. should include "better weather" as an option when they carry out surveys on why people wanna migrate and don't wanna stay in Singapore in the future. MAD HOT.

Buried

You know what they say, it never rains but it pours.

Work was super slow paced till yesterday despite having our usual killer 2-hour meeting on Monday to thrash out the progress and approach to the 2 ongoing projects. Everything was either held up here or there so most of the time I'm sitting in front of the PC dozing off, hoping that no one'll notice. And then there was today, when suddenly all the responses to the queries start coming back and the workload just exploded.

Imagine juggling 2 projects simultaneously with overlapping scope, and you have to go through Point A.1 A.2 A.3 A.4 A.5 A.6 and so on before reaching Point B from Point A for pretty much every testing. By lunchtime my desk is already stacked high up with files and I'm totally buried by this avalanche. TGIF? I don't think so...

Miraculously though I managed to convince my manager and myself that we are on track to meet the deadline. That explains why no OT so far. Next week will be the crucial week, if we can't churn out the reports on time..hahaha, I don't even wanna think about it.

Anyway just staying awake for the Man Utd match later. Berbatov Berbatov, will he or won't he?

Speaking of Spurs, I caught the Spurs vs Sunderland match last week and I thought Sunderland looked pretty good. Granted Spurs were on the offensive for most of the match but Sunderland managed to hit them where and when it hurts most. Looking at Sunderland's squad, Keano actually put together a decent, albeit expensively-assembled, side on paper with a few 'big' names. It's still early days to judge how they will do and they've only gotten their first win, but I'm starting to take an interest in following Sunderland's season apart from Man Utd. Afterall, they've got my former 'fav' Kieran Richardson who absolutely sucks whenever he pulls on a Man Utd jersey but generally excels everywhere else (think West Brom). It could be the way they made Liverfools look distinctly mediocre in their opening match, or the fact that they upset the stubborn Spurs who refuse to let go of Berbatov. Anyhow, hope the Black Cats will win all their home games except the one against Man Utd and put in a good show this season.

The Comex IT show is here again.. Ipod, should I or shouldn't I?

Booking in loh

4 more hours to book in.

I think the "2-week adjustment period" is rather effective cause most, if not all, of us were really pretty much adjusted to BMT. We don't even countdown the days to book out by the 4th day and I'm thinking if we never got to book out it wouldn't be such a big deal. Except maybe for the smokers who are really dying towards the end of 2 weeks cause they ran out of cigarettes haha.. all keep show the shagged dying face.

This bookout was pretty low actually. Man Utd lost to Arsenal 2-1, and somehow I keep getting this lost feeling. Like bookout also zo bo. Like there's nothing much waiting for me in mainland. At least I got to keep my grandma company, but that's just that. Hiding in Tekong doesn't seem to be such a bad thing afterall.

2 more cds added today, Secondhand Serenade's A Twist In My Story and Keane's Perfect Symmetry. I know for sure the SS cd will be nice but Keane is quite a bet. I abso-fucking-lutely loved their 1st album but their 2nd album is like taking a nosedive after reaching the peak. Previewed the first 2 songs at the store and was quite ok..hope it really is. $400 a month... how many cds can I buy man.

All this emo music is gonna keep me company during my lonely nights in camp. Off to prep for hiding in Tekong now. Recruit H G See out.

Man Utd 4 - 0 Arsenal

That's the reason I'm still not sleeping even though its over 3am. I seriously regret a little not taking the walk over to Serangoon Central to watch this match and I probably missed the greatest and most dominant match of Man Utd so far this season. This is truly total pwnage and there are so many quotes that I can copy from the soccernet live commentary to commemorate this day, just to name a few:

"What a performance from United. All the talk before the game was that another home defeat could have killed their season. But they are alive and kicking after thrashing an atrocious Arsenal team today. It honestly could have been nine nil. Crazy."

"On reflection, Arsenal can count themselves lucky not to have shipped about seven goals today, such has been United's dominance. Nani causes havoc again there and his cross is nipped off Saha's boot by Toure."

"Now Adebayor is carded for the most pathetic dive I have ever seen inside the area! Shame on you!"

"There are about 65 of the 9,000 Arsenal fans who came to the game left in their section at present."

HAHAHA PWNED>

Been spending quite alot of money recently, really wish that payday would come sooner. It's still only 17th omfg and manager would be coming back on Monday. No more leaving at 6 on the dot, no more dilly-dallying in the office. Things seem to only be capable of getting worse.

I remember reading from one of those forward email that suggests us to eat a snail or slug or whatever is gross enough to disgust you the first thing in the morning. Why? So that you've experienced the worst possible thing already so things cannot get any worse for the day. Sounds crappy and logical at the same time.

Anyway, I seriously feel that the Diploma in Accountancy does not qualify me to do audit work. I've got no fucking idea how to fill up the audit programme and I'm always asking Chi Tat how to do this and that. Collation is really easy the problems are so minimal, audit is DA shit. I'm wondering if I will really know what how to do it 1 month later... damn.

Met up with my poly classmates to celebrate Fel's birthday a few days back and the minute we sat down we were busy conversating about work. I guess it's just what it can do to you after spending so many hours a week in the office. Khim was passing around a contact list yesterday for us to fill in our msn & hp no., and I wonder if we really will communicate outside office. It's like we see each other every day for so long do we really have anything else to talk about after office hours? Maybe the question is do we still WANT to talk to each other? Lol...

Alright enough of all this rubbish I'm gonna sleep now and hopefully get enough rest for a good day at gym tomorrow.

MAN UTD 4 - 0 ARSENAL HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAA.

What's wrong.

My 3-month stint in Canon is coming to an end soon. In fact next Monday onwards I'll be counting down to 9 more working days. I'll do a thorough review by then, bitching about my colleagues one by one because damn, aren't they dissable. Ok maybe not all, maybe only a certain T in particular. That's for another time.

I've been feeling quite irritable, edgy, negative, fucked up, angry, I don't know what you call it recently. And it's not something that I can talk about and it'll go away cause I don't even know what's causing it. Man Utd's poor start to the season? My impending enlistment? My eternal struggle to lose 5 more kgs? The angry lyrics of the hip hop tracks in my ipod?

Question to haters, how would you feel if you get hated on by people you care about? I know it's pretty contradicting cause you wouldn't care about people you hate on but apparently this is what's going on, at least IMO. Do you really care about me? Do you see something wrong in what I'm doing and you're trying to correct me? Why don't I feel that what you're saying or doing is for my good? Why do I feel that you're just hating on me for hating's sake. Like every thing I do is wrong or not good enough and you'll always have a fucking negative opinion. Do you see me behaving this way to people I care about?

This is really bothering me. Great job bringing me down and letting me know what a low-life I am. Thanks for it. Now I'm gonna have to start pulling myself out from this inferiority complex again.

Fuck this cycle really.

X'mas, Boxing Day rather.

It's that time of the year again whereby there's supposed to be lotsa love, lotsa laughter, lotsa merry-making and most importantly, lotsa presents. Then again I don't really celebrate xmas so it's got nothing much to do with me. Let me tell you how I spent my xmas this year.

I woke up at around 1230pm, ate lunch, played Star Ocean on my psp until around 3plus, slept again until 7pm, woke up for dinner, came back pack my bags for today and went to sleep at around 11pm. That's it. What a holiday huh.

And how many people sms/call to wish me merry xmas? Only one! And that's Fel. HAHAHA. Aren't you honoured Fel? Then again, how many people did I sms/call to wish merry xmas? Answer: Zero. Except replying to Fel. You get the rough idea about my life don't you.

Okay okay so you're thinking I'm a lonely, grumpy and miserable dude. I think so too sometimes. But even if I am, I don't have to act or behave all lonely, grumpy and miserable right? That's how I convinced myself to head down to Zouk on Xmas eve even though I really ought to ground myself due to my very severely tight finances. It's the holidays! I knew I had to cheer myself up...somehow. So I went down with Liting and met up with Samuel and his friends who are incidentally all MY friends now. All I had was a Bourbon Coke cause I'm honestly too broke to drink. Guess it's been a long while since I last left Zouk sober.

Not drunk bo bian, gotta zi-high on the dancefloor to keep myself occupied. Poor people will know what I mean. Btw I sound really noob saying this but I totally loved standing in the middle even though it's very squeezy. Why? Because periodically the smoke will start spewing out from somewhere and it's so thick it covers your face and totally renders you visionless for around 10 seconds. Damn I sound sick but I feel really high when the smoke is in my face and I can't see shit with the loud bass and music thumping.

Yes this sounds really loserish and wrong. Anyway yep that's about all there is to my holidays. I'm not gonna go anywhere on the new year's holidays. Not anywhere happening anyway. I'm determined to ground myself this time round.

My course so far in STC is like...a little back to school for me. It's all lectures and projects and discussions for the first 2 months I heard. The last 2 months will be reserved for OPs. Okay, not too bad, but sometimes it's really very very school-like and it's pretty tough not to fall asleep. We can sleep all we want during our lectures back when we're really in school, but definitely not in our no. 4 uniform and the Major is the one giving the lecture. Not say I very garang wanna chiong lah but I think totally never chiong sua at all also quite sian. Should like chiong a little little bit then relac one corner for very long then is perfect. Maybe the last 2 months will be better, then again, I better be careful for what I wish for.

Gotta start staying in the week after next. Apparently last parade is at 6pm then dinner until 7pm zitao admin time all the way. The gym here really not bad compared to Tekong even though there's no bench press and squat rack. At least there're ample dumbbells. Maybe I oughta start training again to look for a way to spend time other than staring into my psp.

Aight back to the lonely, grumpy and miserable 'thang' I was mentioning earlier. I think one action summarizes my plight perfectly, and that's watching Love Actually alone in my room. Darn I loved that movie actually it's such a sweet movie to watch with a loved one. But I don't think I'll be good enough for that. It's all a big white lie. I'm never the one pushing people away, it's people who's pushing me away cause I'm not worthy enough for anything or anyone. And sometimes I get blinded by the false pretence people put up to make me feel otherwise. C'mon, you don't care about me. Don't pretend you do. Am I just an attention-seeking whore? Is that why I do the things I do, to try to get certain people to notice me? Perhaps. Is it working? Doesn't seem like it.

Man I'm starting to get this perma tobacco taste in my mouth I don't know if it's imaginary or what. Feels like I'm smoking or I've been smoking earlier when actually I'm not. Stinks, really. If it's not the worst smell in the world it's probably top 5 or 10. But I don't think I can fulfil my resolution of stopping after this pack in a while. In fact I said I'll stop after I finish my previous pack but turns out that cannot resist cause how to party without cigarettes? I'm more than halfway through this pack... okay, 1 more pack and I'll stop. Hope to get rid of the perma tobacco taste by then.

Xmas wish, or Boxing Day wish, if I'm entitled to any, would definitely be Man Utd beating Stoke City later on. Logically shouldn't be a problem, but Man Utd had drawn it's previous 2 winnable matches I believe and it's really time to start cashing in on those games in hand so the Top 2 don't run away. Grant my wish ol' Fergie c'mon.

Man Utd 1 - 0 Man City

Promised to update something today so here I am, and I'm gonna talk about the biggest event of the day - MAN UTD 8 POINTS CLEAR AT THE TOP OF EPL. HAHA.

This pic here shows the defining moment of surely a defining match of the season when this asshole Michael Ball tripped C Ron to give Man utd a penalty. This Ball is really one ball of an asshole, illegally stomping on Ronnie's chest and then diving to win Man City a penalty late on. Loser!

Anyway don't get me wrong, as much as I'm a Man Utd supporter, I don't hate Man City. On the contrary, I used to like them almost as much as Man Ud at the start and watch their matches when they were (and still are) considered a low profile team. That was a time when Kevin Keegan managed with surely a no-defence philosophy and you're almost guaranteed to see goals, both scored and conceded, everytime they play. Heck I could even sit down and watch a full match of Man City vs Boro back then.

How times have changed. Under Stuart Pearce they have now so-called made progress from the previous era but they're just not scoring goals which means it's zzz everytime they play. I like Stuart Pearce, I think he has a very funnily-intensified-ji-dong style. Just that with crappy players like Michael Ball around in the team, I'm not sure if they will ever progress. And what with the Joey Barton drama, it's seems an awful lot better to support the team from the red half of Manchester now.

On the other hand, it seems like that has been the case for as long as I can remember anyway.

Hope Chelsea can win at Arsenal tomorrow though, just so Man Utd can clinch the title at Stamford Bridge the way Chelsea clinched theirs playing against Man Utd last season.

Revenge's a bitch. But we all love bitches don't we.

Elitism

The past week in camp had been horrible again. I had so much anger, boredom, loneliness etc., all the negativity bottled inside of me for that few days but unsuprisingly they all disappeared the moment I signed the Book-in-Book-out book. Hahaha, savouring the long weekend and Man Utd's derby win earlier now before it's back to reality tomorrow night.

Finished my novel - "Then We Came To The End" last week, or was it 2 weeks ago. It's a really light-hearted-dark-humour type of book, but the sacarsm and irony really stings if you can get it. For those who can't, they'll probably think it's a darn darn boring/weird book. Anyway I came across this idea of elitism in the novel and I guess I can identify with this character called Joe Pope. His colleagues thinks he's an elitist, because he doesn't mix with their gossipy clique and perhaps also because he's truly capable, an almost overachiever type of person.

Well for his part, he doesn't think he's an elitist. His defence being that the definition of elitist is someone who believes that he belongs to a group of people that is superior to other individuals or groups. There's also a frequent desire to exclude and sieve out those who doesn't quite make the mark. Joe Pope doesn't feel that he belongs to any group, let alone wanting to make where he belongs to exclusive to others. He's not interested, and doesn't see the need, in belonging to a certain group of people who doesn't serve any useful purpose to him or his work. In a nutshell, he thinks that as an individual he's already above these groups and thus doesn't see the need to join them. The definition of elitist cannot really be applied to him and in a way it makes sense doesn't it.

A particular moving chapter right smack in the middle of the novel called "The Thing To Do And The Place To Be" also left an impression on me. It's about how the boss - Lynn Mason, coped with the fact that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and how she got ditched by her man. She had certain flaws, no more or less than anyone of us would have, but "it was the sum of her parts that, in the end, was not what he wanted." What else is there left to say huh?

After a long interlude of some 6 months, I've picked up Milton Friedman's "Free To Choose" again and decided to give it another shot. I practically gave up on the book at my first try because the economic theories, despite his very best to simplify for the layman as I am, simply blew me away. Perhaps I was too impatient then, but seeing how much time I have rotting in my store I have been able to comprehend better this time round. I'm more than halfway through it now, and it's really informative and in a different but better way, blew my mind away again. Capitalism, seen through Friedman's eyes and explained through his words, is really really l337 that's all I can say. Guess I'm quite an easy person to convince, or do you call that guilible? Hahaha.

On another note, sometimes I wonder if the ability to always stay rational and detach oneself from any situation to take an objective and logical view is a gift or a curse. More often than not it's both, but what exactly am I losing out on? Am I in for the long-haul or not? I'm a pretty mechanical person don't you agree, practical and not compassionate enough if you will. I'm sure my storemen will agree lol.

On yet another note, I'm getting poked again tomorrow! By Hui Xin's brother aka Handsome Eric. I decided afterall to leave my left shoulder and upperback for Joseph to finish since he started it, regardless of the fact that he's a little expensive. Besides I'm not exactly confident I can find someone else to add on to it without altering too much of his style. So it's gonna be chest tomorrow, with the latin phrase but not exactly that big that it splashes across the whole chest. I guess a picture will do the job infinitively better, so stay tuned for the photos tomorrow then.
